Bobby-Joe Taylor signs new two-year contract until May 2028

Farnham Town are delighted to announce that attacking midfielder Bobby-Joe Taylor has signed a new two-year contract with the Club, running through the end of the 2027/28 season.

After joining the Town from Dorking Wanderers last summer in what was widely regarded as a major coup for the Club, Bobby has been a near ever-present for us across all competitions, appearing in 50 of our 55 games so far this season and has been the catalyst for a lot of our success.

Averaging just 115 minutes per goal involvement this season, Bobby has either scored or assisted 30% of Farnham Town’s 121 goals scored this season with 36 total goal involvements, including 11 goals and 25 assists, cementing himself as the league’s premier creative force.

Bobby’s impact on the team is also felt off the field, helping raise standards in the dressing room having spent much of his career in Step 1 and the pro game.

“I knew Bobby was going to be a huge asset for us but his impact this season goes beyond my expectations,” manager Paul Johnson said.

“He obviously arrived with great pedigree in the game and should be playing higher up, but he came to us because he believed in where we want to get to, and he’s been nothing short of phenomenal for us. He has become one of the deadliest number 10s in the division – his stats speaks for themselves.

“He’s a vocal leader on the pitch and is able to lean on his great experience playing in big moments to coach the rest of the team through the tough times, while his quality on the ball is always able to shine through. I’m looking forward to continuing to work alongside Bobby in the future.”

Chairman Harry Hugo adds: “I’ve really enjoyed the year I’ve spent with Bobby as part of our football club. Just setting aside the football for a moment, he’s a fun, enthusiastic individual who strives for success and challenges us all to be the best we can be, and you need characters like that around you.

“On the field, I mean what else can I say? He’s the creative spark in the side. The volume of assists he’s had this season is a joke, his dead ball delivery is special, and he’s scored a number of massively consequential goals – our first ever goal at Step 3 and the winner against Hungerford on the opening day, the winner at Weymouth, the winner against Berkhamsted which cemented a home play-off game, and many more.

“Bobby is a player we want to continue to build around here at Farnham Town and will be instrumental to our future success. We’re thrilled to be keeping him around for the next two years.”

Bobby joins Ryan Kinnane, Michael Eacott, Dan Bayliss, Jack Dean and Owen Dean in being under contract for the 2026/27 season, as Paul Johnson continues to map out his plans for next year and beyond.
