Farnham Town can confirm that midfielder Ben Purcell will be leaving the Club this summer.
Having joined the Club in November 2024, Ben was immediately a key member of the squad that won the Isthmian South Central division, appearing in each of our final 29 games of the 2024/25 campaign.
This season, Ben was an integral part of the group to start the campaign, appearing in 14 of our first 19 games across all competitions prior to joining Hayes & Yeading United on a dual-registration for the remainder of the season, where he was named Player’s Player of the Season.
Amid an injury crisis towards the end of the season, Ben answered the call and rejoined the group for run-in, starting the league game away at Taunton Town in the final week of the season and was named in the squad for the Surrey Senior Cup final which the Town won on penalties.

Ben made 44 appearances for the Club over the last 18 months, scoring once, a long-range screamer away at title rivals Kingstonian last season which won our Goal of the Season vote.
Chairman Harry Hugo adds: “Ben will be remembered as a player who played a big part in our most successful ever period.
“He came down from Step 3 to Step 4 last year to aid our title charge in the Isthmian South Central and did so brilliantly, appearing in 29 straight games.
“Starting this season with us, Ben had a role to play in our early phase of the campaign before joining Hayes on a dual reg where he played exceptionally.
“I remember after our win against Berkhamsted on the penultimate week of the season. Joe had gone down injured. Obviously Ogo was out. He had a few others struggling ahead of a week where we had a league game on Monday, cup final Wednesday, league game Saturday and then the Play-Offs.

“I called Ben from the Clubhouse garden basically begging him to play for us on Monday because we needed him. Without hesitation, he said yes he’ll be there. He travelled with us down to Taunton on less than two days notice, played 90 minutes, and then played 90 minutes again the following night for Hayes, and then was in our Surrey Cup Final squad the next night.
“That’s the kind of person Ben is. He’s always there when you need him, supporting the group. I’m glad he was able to come back right at the end and contribute towards our promotion and Surrey Cup win.
“Wherever Ben ends up next season, I’m sure I’ll keep in touch with him and we all wish him the very best.”
