Following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season and looking ahead to plying our trade in the National League South from August onwards, we can confirm the following changes to Paul Johnson’s backroom staff.
Long-time First Team Physio Nathan Kimsing will be stepping away from his role this summer. Nathan has been with the Club for over six years dating back to when we were a Step 6 side, and has been a big part of our journey through the divisions.
Nathan’s presence and involvement at the Club has gone above and beyond that of just a Physio, being a safe and trustworthy member of the local community, and always being the first to step forward and help the Club when it’s needed.
Supporting the Club through four promotions, Nathan is someone who everyone associated with Farnham Town has a lot of respect for, and we look forward to welcoming Nathan back to The Memorial Ground as a fan in the future.
Goalkeeping Coach Matt Lovett has also departed the coaching setup following the 2025/26 season for pastures new. Matt has been part of the support staff with the First Team over the last three seasons, helping us achieve promotion each year.
Both Nathan and Matt have contributed mightily to our successes in recent years and we wish them both nothing but the best as they now explore other opportunities. They’ll both always be thought of fondly by people around the Club and we look forward to our paths crossing again down the line.
We can confirm that Assistant Manager Jimmy Hibburt, Head of Performance & Nutrition David Givens, First Team Coach Paul Barry and Kitman Stuart Puttock will all be continuing on in their roles for the 2026/27 season.
All three have been hugely influential around the Club over the last three years – the most successful period in our 120-year history, all playing their part in supporting Paul and the team both on and off the field, and are very much considered part of the furniture at the Football Club.

Lastly, we are delighted to announce the arrival of Sam Hawkins as our new Lead First Team Coach for the new season. Sam is an incredibly well thought of coach in the local football community, having held a number of roles in the game over the past 10-15 years, largely centre’d around player development and academy coaching.
Sam served as a Pre Academy Coach at Reading between 2013 and 2014, held several different academy coaching positions at Southampton from 2017 to 2020, and joined Aldershot Town in 2022 as an Academy Coach before progressing into his current role of Professional Development Lead Coach.
Along the way, Sam has also had a heavy involvement in the local non-league community, holding positions in the coaching staffs at Frimley Green, Camberley Town, Cove, Sandhurst Town, Ash United, Fleet Spurs and Bracknell Town.
Manager Paul Johnson said: “I’d like to start by personally thanking both Nathan and Matt for everything they’ve done for me and Farnham Town since I joined the Club nearly four years ago.
“Nathan was a huge asset for me when I joined, having already been there for a few years. He knew the faces around the Club, he knew the players, and he was able to help me forge relationships with key people around the Club as I was bedding in.
“Everyone who has worked with Nathan has nothing but positives to say about him, and we’re all immensely grateful for everything he’s done for us over the last few years.
“Matt has been with us over the last three years and been part of a special group that’s achieved three successive promotions. We’d all like to wish both Matt and Nathan all the best as they move on this summer.
“I’m pleased that Jimmy, Givvo, Baz and Stu will all be continuing on next season. Likewise, they’ve all played big roles in supporting our success in the last few years and will continue to be important figures within the setup moving forward.
“This year, we welcome Sam into the group as well. I know Sam well and he’s a very talented and respected coach. He’ll be serving as the Lead Coach within the group helping us prepare for life at National League South level. I can’t wait to get to work with everyone when pre-season gets underway!”
