Farnham Town complete signing of Miles Obodo from Reading

Farnham Town are delighted to announce that we have signed 19-year-old striker Miles Obodo after his release from League One side Reading, who joins on a one-year contract until May 2027.

A promising young prospect, Miles came through the academy ranks at Swindon Town and made four appearances in League Two as a 16-year-old in 2023/24 before joining Reading last summer.

The striker joined Isthmian Premier Division side Chichester City on an initial months loan in December 2025 which was later extended for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

Even in just 20 league appearances for Chichester City, including 17 starts, he finished the season as their top goalscorer in the Isthmian Premier Division, netting seven times.

“Miles was a player I knew I wanted to sign the moment I started following him,” manager Paul Johnson said.

“He’s got bags of potential and had a good season in the Isthmian Premier Division this past season, his first full season of senior football.

“We believe Miles has the ability to kick on, and a year playing in a better team, surrounded by better players, playing at a stronger level, should really help him. I’m really looking forward to getting to know Miles and working closely with him.”

Chairman Harry Hugo adds: “Miles is a player we have been following for a little while and were very impressed with his performances at Chichester City.

“We actually explored potentially bringing him in on loan before the registration deadline and were unable to do so, but he was always someone we were going to look at once the season ended, whatever division we were in.

“He’s an exciting young prospect who we believe can develop into a really impressive footballer. I’m looking forward to welcoming Miles to the Club this summer and watching him every week!”

Everyone at the Club would like to extend a warm welcome to Miles and we look forward to seeing him turn out at The Memorial Ground next season!
