Farnham Town Women welcomes Kevin Foster as new manager

Farnham Town are delighted to announce the appointment of Kevin Foster as the next Farnham Town Women’s manager for the 2026/27 season onwards.

Kevin joins the Town after a memorable and historic ten-year association with Women’s and Girls football at AFC Wimbledon, including a hugely successful nine-year spell as Women’s First Team manager, and will help spearhead a new era of Women’s football in Farnham.

Since Women’s football returned to Farnham Town ahead of the 2024/25 season, the team has enjoyed incredible success in the near-two seasons since. Runs to the First Round Proper of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup supplements what we hope to be back-to-back promotions, giving the Club a great platform to kick-on from this summer.

After originally heading up the girls football pathway, Kevin was elevated to First Team Manager of AFC Wimbledon ladies ahead of the 2017/18 season, narrowly missing out on the league title and promotion from, achieving a second-place finish in Tier 4.

Impressive seasons followed but were curtailed early due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Third and second-place finishes in the FA Women’s National League Division One South East came in 21/22 and 22/23 respectively before Kevin and his team triumphed in 23/24, winning the league title and earning promotion to the FA Women’s National League South (Tier 3).

In 24/25, Kevin led AFC Wimbledon Women to a seventh place finish in Tier 3, which is the highest league position ever reached by the Women’s team in the AFC Wimbledon era.

Last month, it was announced that Kevin would be leaving his role with AFC Wimbledon Women in search of a new challenge, and we are delighted to welcome a manager of great stature in the game to Farnham Town to lead the next phase of our Women’s team project.

“I’m really excited about joining Farnham and the project they are building,” Kevin told the Club.

“The values of the club and its focus on building a strong community are something that have always aligned with me.

“The rise of the men’s side is proof that the club is serious about where they are taking their football, and now we can look to emulate that success with the women’s side. That ambition and direction are something I’m eager to be part of.”

“Kevin is a monumental hire for our Women’s team,” Chairman Harry Hugo said.

“He arrives with incredible pedigree, having taken AFC Wimbledon Women up from Tier 4 of the National League system and earned them their highest-ever league positioning in the Women’s game.

“As we prepare for the next chapter of our Women’s team story, we needed a manager who was respected, had been there and done it, and could help push our team up the levels as well. We want to be playing in the National League system as soon as possible.

“All being well, our Women’s team will be a Tier 5 Club next season. There’s so much potential in Women’s football across the country, but especially here at Farnham. The Women’s team has been as successful as our Men’s team in recent years when you talk about promotions.

“Our Women’s team is such a huge inspiration to young girls in Farnham, and I want that to continue in the years to come. From speaking to Kevin, I can tell he’s relishing the opportunity to work here and he can’t wait to get started. He’s a massive coup for us.”

We’d like to thank players Anya Kinnane and Emma Mutch for stepping in to guide the Women’s team in this interim period following Martin Wareham’s resignation.
