Farnham Town is delighted to announce that manager Paul Johnson has signed a new one-year contract extension with the Club, which sees his deal now run until June 2028.
Ahead of the 2025/26 season, Johnson put pen-to-paper on a two-year contract with the Club following our promotion to the Southern League Premier South, and has now agreed to terms to extend that by a further year.
Since stepping into the dugout back in November 2022, Paul has overseen the greatest period of sustained success in Farnham Town’s 120-year history, culminating with our 5-1 success over Gloucester City earlier this week in the Southern League Premier South Play-Off Final which cemented our third successive promotion and a place in the National League South in 2026/27.
In his three and a half years in charge at The Memorial Ground, Paul’s team has always finished the campaign by lifting silverware, starting with the Southern Combination Cup in 2023, the Combined Counties Premier South title in 2024, the Isthmian South Central title in 2025, and now the Southern League Premier South Play-Off Final winners trophy in 2026, just a fortnight on from the Club’s first-ever Surrey Senior Cup triumph.
Now, as the Club prepares to play at a level they’ve never played at before – for the third straight season – we’re thrilled to be able to secure Paul’s long-term future as our manager, and equally happy that he has shown continued commitment to Farnham Town and the journey we are on.

“Paul is the most important figure at the football club,” Chairman Harry Hugo said.
“The success we have had over the last three years is beyond anything I truly believed was achievable when I first got involved at Farnham Town, and Paul’s been the driving force behind the on-field success we’ve enjoyed over that time.
“Critics on the outside are always quick to point at our resources, but in my view that’s incredibly reductive and doesn’t give Paul the credit he deserves for the job he’s done.
“This season has been the most challenging one we have had in terms of the on-field competition across the division. The way Paul has managed his squad, adapted the team tactically, game-planned meticulously for each opponent, juggled a grueling schedule and ultimately delivered the results under pressure yet again is nothing short of remarkable.
“And the best thing is, Paul is just the best person to work with too. We talk every day about the team, the Club, and the plans for the future. As frenetic and chaotic the world of non-league football is, Paul helps bring a calming influence because I have the utmost trust and belief in him – and it helps that he continues to deliver the results! It makes him an incredibly easy and joyful person to work with.
“The rapid growth we’ve experienced as a football club has gotten us here, into the National League South. Club stature wise, we’re going from being one of the heavyweights to being one of the minnows, the big job now is stabilising and establishing ourselves at Step 2, and there isn’t a better man in football right now than Paul in order to do that.”
Speaking on his new deal, Paul Johnson adds: “It goes without saying how much me and my family have loved every second of being involved at this Club over the last few years. The success we’ve had will live with us forever.
“If it wasn’t for Harry picking the team like under the last manager, we would still be playing at leisure centres!
“I was already committed for next season, but to be offered an extension by the Club is something I’m truly grateful and appreciative for as it shows the trust and belief they have in me.
“We continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible at Farnham Town, not just on the field but off it as well, I’m proud to be playing a part in the journey we’re on and I’m looking forward to making more memories in the future!”
