Salesian College to become First Team Facilities Partner

Farnham Town are delighted to announce a new partnership with Salesian College who will help provide exclusive access to their facilities to the Club for a busy pre season.

Initially supporting us through this upcoming pre-season, our Men’s team will be put through their paces at Salesian’s first-class sports facilities as we conduct our preparations for life in the National League South next season.

Salesian’s impressive sports and athletics facilities play host to hundreds of pupils every year across a broad range of sports, with football at the heart of it, with an inclusive football programme one of the many sporting provisions available to students at the college – this year the college’s Year 8 team won both the district and county cup with two Farnham Town youth players involved in their squad!

Their floodlit 3G is superb and ideal for our pre-season and being able to use the grass football pitch, athletics track and changing facilties is a real bonus for us.  We are very excited and thankful to be the only external sports team that has access to their venue and look forward to leveraging these for our First Team training sessions.

In addition to their impressive sports facilities, the Salesian ecosystem has over 3,000 educational institutes globally, and Salesian College Farnborough is the only independent all-boys with a sixth form in the local area and are proud to welcome students from all backgrounds.

Salesian College is a welcoming school where pupils are encouraged to achieve academic success, develop strong values and grow in confidence within a caring and supportive community.

“Community is at the heart of everything we do at Farnham Town and we’re proud to be partnering with the premier all-boys school in the area in Salesian College,” Chief Operating Officer Frankie Hobbs said.

“The way the local area has rallied behind the Club in recent years and really helped supercharge our growth off the field has been nothing short of remarkable, and we’re incredibly thankful that Salesian College want to support that further by allowing us access to their facility.

“We have real and tangible connections with Salesian through our squad. Home-grown local talent like Owen Dean, Jack Dean, Kai Tanner and Keane Anderson all enjoyed performing at Salesian when representing Aldershot & Farnborough district schools with Owen still being the leading scorer for the association and Keane being the captain of the U15 squad that won the Nationals”

“There are so many great people involved at Salesian who really want to provide the best experience and atmosphere for their students to succeed, and they’ve done an exceptional job at that. We’re hoping some of that can rub off on us!

“We’re hoping this is the start of a long and fruitful partnership between Farnham Town and Salesian College over the next few years and beyond, and we’re thankful for the platform they are providing us.”

Manager Paul Johnson added: “If you take one walk around the campus at Salesian, you wouldn’t want to take your team anywhere else.

“I have been here many times over the years taking my son to his games at Salesian and always thought this would be the pipe-dream for a Farnham Town training hub – and now that’s become a reality which is exciting for me as a coach.

“We’ll be in multiple times a week throughout pre-season as we prepare for the biggest and most exciting season in the Club’s history. I couldn’t think of a better facility for us to be put through our paces. I hope this is the start of a long-term relationship between the Club and Salesian.”

Head of PE Gareth Cousins commented ”it is great we can support Farnham Town in their pre-season and welcome back many former district players in the squad back to Salesian where I had the privilege of coaching them to many successes”.

Next month, Salesian College are hosting their annual Year 5 Taster Day on Monday, June 29th where prospective pupils can experience what life and learning at Salesian would be like. Book your admission for the Taster Day today.
