Farnham Town are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Harley Platel following his departure from Fulham, signing a one-year contract. Harley will immediately join a Isthmian South Central side on a three-month loan deal, subject to league approval, to be announced shortly.
The Aldershot-born 18-year-old winger has spent his entire youth career with the Premier League side, initially joining their U9s team and working their way all the way through to their U18s.
Harley made his debut for Fulham U18s in March 2024 before signing a two-year academy scholarship with the Cottagers. He would leave the club in June and has since spent the majority of pre-season with the Town.
After impressing in pre-season friendlies against Cobham and Wycombe Wanderers, Harley now signs on permanently with the Club for the 2026/27 season and goes out on loan for some regular action.
“Harley is an immense talent and having been able to see him up close over the course of pre-season, it was a simple decision to bring him on board permanently,” manager Paul Johnson shares.
“He’s got the ability to beat a man and very good close control. As with every young player, he’s got a lot of development to do but we believe we can offer him the platform and environment to do so. We’re looking forward to tracking his progress at his loan club in the early months of the season and then assessing from there.”
Chairman Harry Hugo adds: “We’re really eager to see what Harley can do with us this season after impressing in pre-season.
“He’s spent his entire career in elite academy football at Fulham and now makes the move into the senior game. He’s shown what he’s capable of in the opportunities he’s been given in pre-season and we’re looking forward to watching him flourish while out on loan.”
