Farnham Town complete signing of Louie Holzman from Farnborough

Farnham Town are delighted to announce the arrival of defender Louie Holzman following his departure from fellow National League South side Farnborough, penning a one-year contract.

The 22-year-old Berkshire-born centre-back came through the academy system at Reading and made his senior debut for the Royals in an Emirates FA Cup Third Round tie against Kidderminster Harriers in January 2022.

Louie became a regular fixture in the first team setup during the 2024/25 season, making 15 appearances throughout the campaign in League One and domestic cup competitions. He would leave Reading at the end of the season following the expiry of his contract.

In the summer of 2025, Louie joined National League side Eastleigh on a one-year contract making six appearances for the Spitfires before joining National League South outfit Farnborough on a short-term loan, appearing 14 times in the league between October and January before returning to Eastleigh.

Eastleigh announced that Louie would leave the Club by mutual consent in February, immediately returning to Farnborough on a deal until the end of the 2025/26 season. He would score twice in 29 games for Farnborough before leaving the Club in May.

Now, “Trialist B” signs on with Farnham Town for our debut season at National League South level.

“Louie was a standout performer in our win over Eastleigh to finish off pre-season,” manager Paul Johnson said.

“He showed great composure on the ball and ability to carry it out from the back, but also that aggressive side of the game, dominant in the air and committed in the challenge – everything you want to see from a central defender.

“Coming out of a professional academy setup, Louie has been coached to play modern day football and that fits really well with how I want my team to play.

“We were keen to add one more body at the back at I’m very happy to be adding Louie to the group. He comes with experience at this level with Farnborough, and knows a lot of the boys in the dressing room already, so I expect him to settle in fast!”

Chairman Harry Hugo adds: “We’re really happy to be adding a player of Louie’s quality to our squad at this stage of the summer.

“Having watched him for 90 minutes in our final pre-season friendly, it was clear to everyone watching that he was a very impressive footballer with a lot of the attributes you want from a defender in today’s game.

“From chatting to him after the game as well about what it is we’re doing at Farnham, Louie immediately got it and was bought in, which was great to see. I’m looking forward to working with him this season.”
